hello, good morning, good evening and good night,
introducing ... Jnr Bowles
In a perfect world we would get what we want, but sometimes we choose to take shortcuts, the problem being that these quick fixes usually always affect others in a round about way.
Junior is taking the hard road with no easy way out, making music without advanced technologies, recording and playing the old school way before we could take those shortcuts.
Just a raw and honest, emotional display of what he believes in...
... and the plan is to release only on Vinyl, supporting local artist, printmakers, studio's and musicians alike. Giving back to the small community what gets taken away every minute from the ease of shortcuts.

Awesome news, 3 of my songs are being added to the AMRAP Airit catalogue, these guys show an immense amount of support to Australian singer/songwriters and without them we wouldn't be hearing new independant material on our community radio stations. Big cheers to all involved!
Also wanted to add that we have finally hit the East coast, no more red dirt and look out sweet salty oceans. Have added more gigs to FNQ.
Till next time we'll just keep on truckin' mamma!

Tour Update On the Road 14/05/2011
With some last minute impromptu gigs added to the tour it's been pretty busy for the first 3 weeks, driving long roads in the old bus, all the girls singing and swinging...Late night roadside stops and some insanely oversized bulls giving me strange looks from the middle of the road, in the middle of nowhere. As if to say, just you try and get me out of the way, mate. Fantastic times to ponder, to think like the bull or the driver? He moves along quite casually and we continue onwards and upwards, with our singing and swinging.... The journey has just begun! See you at a show soon.

So many guests up on stage that all gave an amazing show, even Senior Bowles jumped up to help with a bitter sweet song I wrote for my wife, Heart of Ice. To everyone here's cheers, I'll miss you all so... thanks from the bottom of my stella..

The new year is about and the record being reality is closer than ever before, all of the recording is done, just mastering and pressing to go. Big thanks to all the very amazing musicians that have had a bit of their history recorded too. Huge thanks to James for his talent and time, and for allowing me to use his creative space.
Now to take a breath, catch a few more gigs and enjoy a little more time off. Hope the new year brings all you folk your wildest dreams and wishes, and some sweet tunes to your ears too.
Last two days... 23/12/2010
Wow, and more. What an awesome experience and how would I ever begin to explain how fulfilled and complete I feel..
The first two days of recording... 01/11/2010
"What do i say? I was completely in awe for the first couple of hours at the thought that I am actually going to make this record the way i've been dreaming about creating it. Then I saw the tapes that my music was going to end up on. Very old school and extremely cool!
Everything went smoothly on day one. James Newhouse was a pleasure to work with and his space at real2reel was perfect to lay my tracks down in. We even finished early and started doing over dubs on 4 tracks.
Day two was just as cool. We laid down 5 other tracks with double bass, played by the amazing Ellen Paynter, they were recorded live so given the fact we only went over the songs briefly before recording, we were captured in the moment. A few hiccups though, at one point I thought I was going to loose it laughing due to the amount of takes, but we got through it and I did get the chance to do some more over dubs on day 2. We also managed to get some photos taken by my awesome photographer sister, Lil' Sis Bowles, check 'em out on the gallery page.
The next sessions are in December so I will keep you posted.."
Recording has begun! 27/10/2010
As of this week, Jnr has gone into studio Real to Reel, Northbridge, to record his debut release. With songs he has created on his journey to reality, Jnr will be capturing his 1915 Stella Banjo along side the trusty national resonator, stella 12 string and grampa's fiddle. With friends along side to help create the amazing musical story Jnr has to share this album will leave you taken aback.
The plan is to release on Vinyl, supporting local artist, printmakers, studio's and musicians alike. Giving back to the small community what gets taken away every minute from the ease of shortcuts...
